Maasai Trekking - Ngorongoro High Land

Day 1: Arusha Ngorongoro.         
After morning breakfast collect your lunch boxes and drive to Olduvai. Then you will drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority to Olduvai Gorge where you will visit the archaeological history at Olduvai before driving back to Simba Campsite on a full board basis, where the high altitude of the Crater Rim will ensure you sleep well.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Nainokanoka.
Soon after breakfast collect your lunch box and drive to Ngorongoro for a half-day tour of the crater. Within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is the largest unbroken caldera (collapsed volcano) in the world, Ngorongoro Crater. The crater floor (610 meters deep and 260 km squared) is a haven for wildlife, a microcosm of East African scenery and animals.
There are many large animals within the crater itself, mostly zebra and wildebeest, but also lion and elephant. This is undoubtedly the best place to see rhino in Tanzania . Other animals may include: leopard, cheetah, hyena, warthog, impala, buffalo, hartebeest, eland and many other antelope and smaller mammals.

here are many flamingos and a variety of other water birds around the soda lake on the crater floor.  More than a 100 species of bird not found in the Serengeti have been found in the crater.  Dinner and overnight at the Nainokanoka Campsite.

Day 3:Nainokanoka Bulat.
Take an Early breakfast (07.00) and with the help of donkeys carrying the luggage we head for Bulati Village visiting Olmoti Crater and waterfalls passing the Embulmbul Impression. The Olmoti Crater is a shallow grassy crater and is the source of the Munge River , which pours through a notch in the rim in a spectacular waterfall on its way to Ngorongoro Crater. Dinner and overnight at Bulati Campsite.

Day 4 Bulat Embakai.
 
After an early breakfast hike to Empakaai Crater (4 Hours). Descend into the crater to watch the flamingos and other animals this beautiful little crater contains forests and a deep lake. At Empakaai, the scenery is spectacular at every point. From the northern and eastern side you can look out to the dramatic cone of Ol Doinyo Lengai, the Great Rift Valley and Lake Natron . Dinner and overnight on the Empakai Crater rim.

Days 5:Embakai Acacia.
Empakaai to Acacia via Naiyobi After breakfast you visit a Maasai village. Picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight at Acacia Campsite (village campsite) which is close to Ol Doinyo Lengai an active volcano.

Day 6:Acasia Natron.
On the way down into the Rift Valley the landscape is truly emotional: steep cliffs on your left, Lake Natron in front of you and Lengai on your right. Down in the valley the cars welcome us to bring us to a comfortable campsite near the lake. Over night at Natron Campsite.

 

Day 7:Natron.
On this day you will walk from the camp to the village where you can see the Lake from there. After lunch late the evening you walk to amazing water full. Evening prepared for going to climb Oldonyolengai, you will start climbing at 02.00 Am then back down around 10.00 Am.

Day 8:Natron Mto wa mbu.
Soon after breakfast you load the luggage on a car and drive to Lake Natron to see Flamingo. After that drive to Lake Manyara.Dinner & over night at Fig Campsite/Lodge at the village known as Mto wa Mbu.


Day 9 : Mto wa Mbu - Arusha
On this day you might have culture tour at the village or free day shopping. After lunch drive back to Arusha.

In addition we do the maasai treking in roita hill in maasai land, the trek takes 6 to 7 days many animals can be found in this trek including the some of the big five.
